The summing-up meeting of the first Hangzhou Triennial of Fiber Art and the initial meeting of the 2016 Hangzhou Triennial of Fiber Art hosted at 19:30, June 26th, 2014 in the China Academy of Art. (Hereafter referred to as the Triennial)

The guests of the meeting include Xu Jiang, the president of the China Academy of Art, Shi Hui, the chief curator of the first Triennial and the professor of the sculpture department in China Academy of Art, Gao Shiming, the curator of the second Triennial and the dean of the School of Inter-Media Art in the China Academy of Art, Ma Fenghui, the director of the Zhejiang Art Museum, Yan Fei, the deputy director of the Department of Exhibition, Liu Xiao and Xu Jia, the executive curators of the second Triennial, Shan Zeng, the curator of the first Triennial and the professor of the sculpture department in China Academy of Art, Assadour Markarov, the professor of the Sophia National Academy of Arts in Bulgaria and all the members of the organizing team of the second Triennial.

In the meeting, the attendees made a financial report and conclusion of the first Triennial and made a primary determination of the date to announce the theme of the second Triennial and the date to hold the exhibition. The executive curators Liu Xiao and Xu Jia reported the planning scheme of the second Triennial in details. The attendees had a heat discussion on such issues like different schemes, post session integration and advance publicity. The keywords of the second Triennial are “ready-to-hand”, “day-to-day”, “temperature”, “power” and “local”.
