Ying Xinxun, born in Yongkang, Zhejiang, China in 1981, graduated from Chinese Academy of Art in 2019 with a PhD. Now she lives in Hangzhou and teaches at the Department of Fiber Art in CAA and is the head of Fiber Plastic Arts Studio. Her art creations focused on the daily life, the gaze of the changing times, and the personal attitude towards art. Recently, she is focusing on artificiality, sensibility, spirit and other issues brought about by the “society of spectacle”, and post-aesthetics, contemporaneity, and the relationship between the media and the body, social and natural ecology. She works with installation, video, performance, theater performance, painting, and so on.
Her works have been exhibited in China’s famous museums, such as Today Art Museum(Beijing), Times Art Museum(Beijing), Minsheng Art Museum(Beijing), Museum of Contemporary Art (Shanghai), Zhejiang Art Museum, He Xiangning Art Museum(Shenzhen), PIFO New Art Studios(Beijing) Bank Gallery(Shanghai), etc, as well as in German, Bulgaria and Japan and so on. Ying Xinxun won the Talent Award from Martell Art Foundation at Today Art Museum. She was nominated for “Future Talent” and Wang Shikuo Award by Today Art Museum. Sponsored by the Today Art Museum and the Martell Arts Foundation,she went for a residency and study program in Düsseldorf, Germany. Her works are collected by both institutions and individuals such as Today Art Museum, Martell Arts Foundation, Wang Shikuo Foundation etc.
